L6 'Inspirational person' speech

Joe Holloran gave an excellent talk on the following four individuals:

Sir Timothy  Berners-Lee

Ward Cunningham

Muhammad Ali- converted to Islam

Malala Yousufzai

All these people, have something to the world at the cost of nothing, they all shared a belief or a goal,  no matter what got in their way they always stood by their beliefs and wouldn’t change their determination to make things right.

"The mark of the immature man is that he wants to die nobly for a cause, while the mark of the mature man is that is wants to live humbly for one. Think about what your doing and if it is going to to help others or is it just going to help you?" The Catcher in the Rye

Hesperus

This year we have won the Div. Instrumental cup, Div. Ergo (fourth year running), Intermediate Div. Debate and Senior Div. Debate. Hesperus has also achieved a Div. Effort Grade average of 2.0 and finished runner-up (again) to Illawarra in the Headmaster's Cup. We were the joint top Division in last week's parade. You can all be very proud of your achievements.

As a celebration of your collective success over the past two terms we will have a pizza night on Thursday from 19.00 - 20.00.
