Here are the minutes and Mr Cane-Hardy’s responses from Tuesday’s House Council.

Mr Cane-Hardy’s response

More shelves in the big dorm
I’ll ask maintenance to have a look – as I’ve said previously there isn’t much wall space for more shelves. However, I want to help with your organisation.

No doughnuts
I understand doughnuts are the least popular snack – Adam Cook should take this to the Food Committee next week.

WiFi on before 7.30am
This is something Finn Slevin and Jake Evans can take to the School Council.

The downstairs shower is broken
I’ve asked maintenance to fix it – sorry.
Can we have a new juice machine?
The existing one has been fixed so we don’t need one yet. Clearly our machine is on its last legs so we will need one soon.

Can we have the flags back in the downstairs corridor?
Now the corridor has been painted I think it looks much better without the flags. I also think your next Housemaster L should be able to decide how to decorate the corridor.

 5 Form

Can we have a new scrubbing brush in the Galley?
This we can do! I’ll ask Gail to arrange this. I’m delighted you take washing up so seriously.

WiFi to come on at 6.30am
See above

Different flavours of squash

I’ll speak to Gail but I don’t see why not.

There aren’t enough chairs in rooms.
I’ll look into this – there should be enough for everyone.

 Lower 6

Wifi to come on earlier
See above – clearly you have been discussing WiFi times!

Can we have a Hesperus flag?
Probably not – I seem to have answered this question about 500 times. Your new Housemaster might be more generous!

Can we have a say in the new Housemaster?
I think there will be a student panel but Mrs Bond will be able to confirm this.

 Upper Sixth

New drinks machine
See above
Can we have the piano back from Harbinger?
Yes – I keep forgetting to get it. Keep reminding me.

Hesperus needs a Lord of the Rings box set
No we don’t! It’s always on Sky anyway and you are always watching it.

Can we buy a karaoke machine?
Good idea – I’ll look into it.

Can we outlaw Tommy Hessian’s hair?
I am happy to support this. However, his hair is looking quite good and it is really well conditioned.
