House Council - 1 March 2016

Hesperus House Council

1 March 2016

Here are the minutes and Mr Cane-Hardy’s responses from Tuesday’s House Council.

3 Form
Comment
Mr Cane-Hardy’s response

Can we have bedside tables?
It’s a good idea and I would like to but there just isn’t room this year.

We need better hoovers?
I’ll speak to Jack but the hoovers seem fine to me. Maybe your floor is just really dirty?

Can we have a greater variety of squash?
I’ll ask Gail – I don’t see why not.

Can the day boys have desks?
There isn’t space. My suggestion is you use the Library or computer room to complete prep during Enrichment (if you don’t have an enrichment activity).

4 Form
Can we have a new juice machine?
We definitely need one – I’ll ask.
Day boys aren’t happy with their room. It’s too small.
It is quite small but you don’t have to spend all your time in it. See the room as a base and spend more time in the Gun Room (which is big) and do your work in the Library and computer rooms.

Can we have curly fries and chicken more often?
Adam Cook will take this to the Food Committee
Food at supper is often running out by 6.15.
Adam can also take this to the FC.

5 Form
Can we have tables and benches outside?
Nice idea – I’ll look into it.
A new juice machine please.
See above.

The fire alarms are too loud
Excellent comment – I will turn them right down so they don’t disturb you….

New carpet downstairs
I will ask (again)

One chocolate per merit – there’s no incentive.
The incentive should be receiving an excellent mark for your work. Indeed, the Merit is an incentive in itself. However, I will be more generous…. 5 Merits or more = 2 chocolates.

Lower 6
New juice machine
See above.

New carpet in Gun Room
See above.

Shampoo in shower dispensers
Finn Slevin & Jake Evans will take this to the School Council

Div. Cooking competition
Excellent idea – I will speak to HoMs but can Adam also take this to the FC.

Upper Sixth

We need ink in the printer
I will contact ICT.

When is the Hesperus run starting again?
This week – let’s do a run on Wednesday morning, leave at 6.45.

Inter-floor competitions
Very happy for you to come up with ideas and I will help you organise.

Everyone needs to run the 100%
Agreed – Shall we offer a run on Friday Central Hour.
