Hesperus Muster

We are having a short Muster today due to the House Council taking place at 8.45

Praise
  • Kenny Xu for his performance in the Piano Festival (photos below)
  • Rylan Li for his performance at the GCSE recording last Tuesday
  • The u16 and 1VII Rugby teams who played we at the Reigate Sevens last Sunday
  • Tom Perring who made his debut for the 1VIII at the Bruges Boat Race over the weekend
  • The 6 Form for their excellent approach to their trial exams last week
  • Charles Guest who will be promoted to Cadet Captain on Sunday
Notices
  • 100% training runs will be taking place on Wednesday mornings at 7.00 and Friday lunchtimes at 14.00 - led by team captain Olly Chapman!
  •  I encourage you to attend the Lent address this evening at 19.00.
  • Please improve your attendance at Music Rehearsals.
  • The Spring Concert is taking place on Friday evening and I hope all boarders and day boys will attend.
  • There is a talk on a career in the media in the Athens Room at 16.30 today.

Student of the Week

Alex Carr awarded the Elvis trophy to CCCC Joe Holloran who achieved the joint best effort grade in the house and consistently demonstrates outstanding effort and standards.

College Sunday

Harry Farrant reminded the house about this week's College Sunday and the need to polish shoes and, in some cases, cut hair. Uniform needs to look great and parade practise this week must be excellent.

Student of the Week

Congratulations to Ed Chapman who receives the Elvis Trophy this week. Ed always receives 10/10 for his room inspection and he was awarded 4 Merits this week. Well done!

This Weekend

A really busy weekend coming up:

 The Second Half of Term

There are only 5 weeks until the Easter holiday and only 3 weekends in the second half of term. The end of term will be here very quickly so we must ensure we make the most of our time. It is a crucial 5 weeks!

Before half-term we focused on our manners and organisation. These continue to be important but we have a new target for the second half of term:

Win the 100% - Olly Chapman has been asked to lead our training and we will have training runs on a Wednesday morning (7.00) and Friday Central Hour (14.00).

Hesperus Muster

Praise
  • Ed Digby came 15 out of 81 competitors at the Indoor Rowing Championships on Sunday.
  • Luke Towers and the rest of the IV and Quad for winning their Head on Saturday.
  • Olly Chapman scored the only basket for the 2 VI Basketball team on Saturday. They lost!
  • Another well done to Will Read and Olly Rogers for winning Div. Debate last week.
  • Good wins for the Hockey club on Saturday.
  • Lots of boys have asked me to mention Jamie Perring who tidied the Galley by himself yesterday. A great example to others.
  • Good luck to the u14 and u16 Hockey teams for the Berkshire Championships tomorrow.
  • Good luck to Ed, Adam, Sam, Bertie and Jon for the production this week.
  • Harry Farrant - 'Well done on Sunday. I'll find out why we didn't get a higher score.'

Alex Carr mentioned the boys who are in the play and are having to manage their time. However, this week the Elvis trophy is rewarded to Philip Garnier for receiving 7 Merits!

Lower 6: The Lessons I've learned

Tom Perring: Get involved but make sure you organise your time effectively.
Alex O'Sullivan: Have respect for the house, yourself and others.
Jon Grieve: If you want to succeed on the sports field make sure you always ask your coaches how you can improve - the same applies in the classroom.
Ed Winter: Be proud - proud of your appearance, conduct, work and Division.
