Division Muster 07/01/2013

Hesperus Muster

  • Academic Ethos this term
A really important term for everyone but particularly the 5th and 6th Form who will be sitting Mock and AS / A2 Modules at the start of term followed by the learning of final topics and the start of exam revision.

The whole Division must be mindful of the pressure the senior boys will be under as they complete January modules and re-sits. The working atmosphere in prep and study periods must be perfect. 3rd and 4th Formers must avoid being too noisy after prep as I will expect many pupils to be revising between 20.30 - 22.00.
  • Commendations
The number of commendations the Division receives is a reflection of the effort you are making and the quality of work you produce. Let's make sure there are plenty of commendations this term.

We now have the commendations tube up outside the Mr Cane-Hardy / Mr Riley's study. Make sure all commendations you receive are placed in here. When it is full we will buy a prize for the whole Division. We will then pick out one commendation and whoever it belongs to will win an individual prize.
  • Notices
- Supper Timings: 18.00 - 6th Form / 18.15 - 3, 4, 5 Form
- House Debating Competition - Tuesday 22 January
- Div. Table Tennis - 29 January (away v Q)
- Cricket - Winter nets to start this week. See notice board
- House Council next week

The Lent Term is a 10 week term. Being tired is not an excuse and let's make sure we give 100%  and enjoy plenty of success. Good Luck.

Feedback from end of term Pupil Survey

How can Hesperus improve?

-        More Upper 6th activities: SDCHLet Mr Riley and me know what you want to do and we can arrange

-        House Party: SDCH Let Mr Riley and me know what you want to do and we can arrange

-        Hesperus Socials: SDCH Let Mr Riley and me know what you want to do and we can arrange

-        Healthier snacks: SDCH – Andrew Farley can take this to the next food committee meeting

Hesperus made it a hat-trick of Div. Ergo victories in a hugely exciting competition on Wednesday. It came down to the last 5 minute row as Jon Grieve and Shannon Webb held on to defeat Port Jackson by 2 metres!

Well done to all of the rowers involved and for the whole Division who provided brilliant support.
